For comparison, I wear my felted earrings 24/7, although I usually take them off in the shower as they can get soggy. If they get dirty, you can gently wash them with cold or warm water and gentle soap. Squeeze the water out, and reshape when wet.
I tested the durability of my earrings by putting them through the washing machine, putting a lit match under them, throwing them at the wall and hitting them with a hammer. They survived all tests! The fire did char the wool slightly, but the charred parts flaked off. Wool is naturally fire retardant so it chars instead of catching fire.
